Week 7 Wrap Up
This week we talked about a lot of things that were very interesting. I also loved how we got to interact with our classmates. I know we always get to do this, but this week was very different. The group I was with had a lot of new ideas and they also helped me understand a lot of things that I didn't notice when I watched the videos that the professor assigned us.
On Tuesday we watched a video and it was a Pecha Kucha example by Stacey Wharton and the video was about Failing to Succeed. In my opinion, I thought this week’s assignments were pretty good and entertaining. The reason why is because they were not boring, they actually caught my attention, especially the video by Stacey Wharton.
This video talked a lot about how to succeed when you fail. One of the best parts that I loved about this video was when she mentioned the thing about famous people. While Stacey was talking she was talking about how famous people also fail and will continue failing. The reason why I loved this fact it's because it is so true. Sometimes we think just because we’re not known by the world we’re bad people if we fail but that's not true. The fact that famous people also fail tells us that we are all humans and are always going to fail no matter what. By this we can see that even when they failed they still achieved their goals and went very far. I took this in a very positive way because sometimes it’s very hard for me to believe that I can do certain things or I just think it’s impossible.
This video also talked about how sometimes when we screw up we don't know how to react or don’t know what to do. It also mentions when sometimes we experienced disappointments. I personally loved this because I am a person who gets disappointed very fast especially when things don’t go my way or I fail. I tend to get sad and not only think about giving up but also to think I am not good enough. It also mentioned and gave us an example about George the curious. She said that by being curious is how humans can learn more and more. I am usually very curious and I have realized that by me doing that I have learned so many things.
In conclusion, this week taught me a lot. One of the things that I learned the most was not to be afraid of failing. I think it is very important for humans to know that failure is not something bad and that everyone at some point is going to fail to be able to learn.
Jacy, I completely agree that failure isn’t always a bad thing, and every single human on earth has failed and will continue to fail as their life goes on. It’s so easy to feel bad about ourselves after a failure and thinking we are not good enough, but that is definitely something I’m working on as well.
ReplyDeleteJacy, I'm glad your group work felt so positive for you this week. And I love that your group helped you notice things about the videos that you didn't spot on your own. That's one big reason why group work can be so valuable!
